Main Street City, located at the intersection
of Hwys. 271 and 80, is an ideal place to
get away for a nostalgic weekend.
Lovers
of antiques, arts and crafts will enjoy a
day of browsing and shopping in the downtown
area. More than 30 shops and malls are located
in the quaint old buildings, including a bakery,
eateries, bed and breakfast inns, ladies clothing
shops, etc. Shops are open Tuesday through
Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m, and Sundays
1-5 p.m.
Lake
Gladewater features various water sports,
softball, tennis, volleyball, picnicking (includes
grills), and a large gazebo (reservations
903-845-5041). Located on the Sabine River
is a newly built boat ramp and Di-Jac Park
picnic area.
The
Pines Camp and Conference Center offers summer
camp, horseback riding, and conference facilities.
Also
available is Gladewater Municipal Airport,
Lee Daffodil Gardens, 9-hole golf course,
skydiving, carriage rides, historical museum,
Saturday Night Opry, auction, and R.V. hook-ups.
Annual events include PRCA Rodeo, East Texas
Gusher Days, and Arts & Crafts Festival.
