Gladewater. . . the Antique Capital of East Texas, a Texas Main Street City, located at the intersection of Hwys. 271 and 80, is an ideal place to get away for a nostalgic weekend.

Lovers of antiques, arts and crafts will enjoy a day of browsing and shopping in the downtown area. More than 30 shops and malls are located in the quaint old buildings, including a bakery, eateries, bed and breakfast inns, ladies clothing shops, etc. Shops are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m, and Sundays 1-5 p.m.

Lake Gladewater features various water sports, softball, tennis, volleyball, picnicking (includes grills), and a large gazebo (reservations 903-845-5041). Located on the Sabine River is a newly built boat ramp and Di-Jac Park picnic area.

The Pines Camp and Conference Center offers summer camp, horseback riding, and conference facilities.

Also available is Gladewater Municipal Airport, Lee Daffodil Gardens, 9-hole golf course, skydiving, carriage rides, historical museum, Saturday Night Opry, auction, and R.V. hook-ups. Annual events include PRCA Rodeo, East Texas Gusher Days, and Arts & Crafts Festival.

23rd East Texas Gusher Days April 19
What: Enjoy a variety of events revolving around the nostalgia of the oil boom days including Golf Tournament April 12, kick-off luncheon and amusements on April 18. Heritage parade, Gusher Gallop, car show, chili cook-off, arts & crafts and much more on April 19. Big Bass Classic on April 26.

71st Gladewater Round Up Rodeo June 4-7
What: Nationally sanctioned PRCA Rodeo featuring a lavish parade, chuck-wagon cook-off, street dance on May 31st, Cowboy Prayer Breakfast on June 1, and four days of Old West Style Bronco-Bustin Rodeo.
